Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of illakku, available at https://www.illakku.com(the "Service"), operated for a community of alumni to reconnect, share updates, and stay in touch. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is intended for verified members of the alumni community it serves. Some areas of the Service (such as the public feed) can be viewed by anyone. Creating a post, poll, or comment requires signing in with a Google account, and new accounts are reviewed by an administrator before certain features are unlocked. We may reject or revoke access for anyone who cannot be verified as a member of the intended community.

• You sign in using Google Sign-In; you are responsible for the security of that Google account.
• You must provide accurate information and keep your profile reasonably up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity that happens through your account.
• We may suspend or block an account that violates these Terms, community expectations, or applicable law.

You retain ownership of the posts, polls, comments, photos, and profile information you submit ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant illakku a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

Some content (such as new posts and polls) is held for administrator review before it becomes visible to others. We may remove or decline to publish any content, at our discretion, that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise inappropriate for the community.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Post content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, hateful, or sexually explicit.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with the community.
• Upload content you don't have the rights to share.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours.
• Use the Service to spam, scrape at scale, or disrupt its normal operation.

Administrators may approve, reject, edit visibility of, or remove any User Content, and may approve, restrict, or remove any account, at their discretion, to keep the community safe and on-topic.

illakku relies on third-party infrastructure to operate, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting) and Cloudinary (image storage and delivery). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, illakku and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
